Professional Videographer/Video Editor

Profile: Effective at shooting events, work well with producers, specialize in HD/MiniDV/DVCAM formats with my own professional equipment. I am experienced, professional videotaping since 2001, started out as a grip for New West Video Production Company and went to a Technical Vocational Institute, learning field production filming from a teacher, who for ten years, was a Cameraman / Assistant Producer in Hollywood. Also completed a video editing class, receiving an A in both classes.

I have been doing video production work for the past nine years. My abilities are growing, in 2006, was trained at studio camera work at Channel 27, downtown Albuquerque, NM. It was a Part-time, qualified position, learning video shooting in a studio and was a cameraman for a producer's show called, "Talk Show This". The following year, changed to another talk show, called "W.V. (wierd vehicle) Show " , duties as main camera operator, floor director, Compix operator and switching with a Grass Valley Group Switcher, doing this for the last three years..

This last two years , been shooting with an additional video format: DVCPRO50 using a P2 card on my Panasonic HVX200P Camcorder. I have the foresight, to shoot material with timing, even in a team environment, that is editable in a variety of ways, and set up, pan or tilt camera properly, focusing on a subject. In getting a good background scene, able to do a proper iris set, with the best possible lighting available and cover what happens in front of the camera, for the final goal.

In April, 2009, participated in a Bernalillo County Hands-On Filmmaking Workshop, presented by the Arts Program and Digital Filmmaking Institute, learning the craft of filmmaking, techniques, positions necessary to shoot and produce a movie. The Director of Photography (Cinematographer) session, confirmed my knowledge and ability to set up camera, lighting and sound to produce an appropriate film shoot.

Starting in 2010, I am working with a video production company, Taffy Productions, using my Panasonic HVX200 camcorder with their HVX200, as an option to use two High Definition cameras together, if needed for your project or event. I never break a signed commitment, unless an emergency arises, the goal is your production, done professionally, with an Independent Contract Agreement and a Deposit, as necessary requirements.

Video editing, done in Final Cut Pro 6, on MacBook Pro laptop, standard post-production, completed A.S.A.P. In 2001, used Adobe Premiere 6.0 to 1.5 Pro, 2006 switched to Final Cut Pro 3 and in 2008, upgraded to FCP 6, completing acceptable video work with it. Do SmoothCam effects, achieving film look, blur-out on faces or logos, create gradient wipes, also alpha mattes, able to use Motion, Live-Type, Color-Correction and Adobe PhotoShop programs. I can select and combine the most effective shots of each scene to form a logical and smooth run story, with the ability to edit an event in a way, that can inspire and delight an audience.
